Sam, his two older sisters, his older brother, and his mother moved to Louisville, Kentucky in 2013. Native to Rwanda, his family finally felt a sense of safety and opportunity. Although Sam was bilingual when he arrived in the United States, neither language was English (he was instead fluent in Chichewa and Kinyarwanda). Rooms contain two beds and a work space for our students. The students are responsible for keeping the space clean and organized. - [Blair Graduate Scholarship](https://www.westendschool.org/blair-graduate-scholarship/): Blair Graduate Scholarship THE Blair graduate SCHOLARSHIP The Blair Graduate Scholarship is open to all West End School Alumni who require tuition support in high school or college. Students may apply for tuition, room, board, or books. Awarded scholarships will be paid directly to the recipient’s institution. Application due dates: Spring Semester: September 15th Fall Semester: March 15th Scholarship Amount: $2,500/year ($1,250/semester) NOTE: WES Alumni are defined as students who graduated from WES in the 8th grade.
